Terms Of Service
Anyone who brings a clock for repair to Rickarton Clocks confirms that they are the owner or authorized agent of the owner and agrees to release Rickarton Clocks from any liability for the clock, except as agreed in these terms.
Rickarton Clocks does not require payment in advance for clock repairs. Payment is due upon item collection or delivery to the client's address. The clock may be kept by Rickarton Clocks until full payment is received.
Initial estimates are approximate and subject to change. If additional work is needed that will increase the estimate by 20% or more, Rickarton Clocks will contact the client for approval before proceeding.
The estimated time for completion of any repair is not guaranteed and may change due to unforeseen delays. Rickarton Clocks will not be held responsible for such delays.
All detachable parts of the clock case, including winding keys and door keys, should be removed and kept by the client during the repair time.
Rickarton Clocks reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time.
Guarantee
Rickarton Clocks offer a 12-month guarantee on all full services (not part repairs or oil services).
Guarantee starts from date of collection or delivery and covers parts and labor with the exceptions stated below.
Guarantee is non transferable and only applicable to the original transaction.
The following are excluded from the guarantee:
The cost of repair or replacement of:
Mainsprings, broken wheels & teeth caused by mainspring breaking after service.
Repair or replacement of weight cables, gut or chain.
Repair or replacement of broken hands.
Replacement of broken glass.
Accidental damage or damage caused by misuse of the clock, unreasonable winding force.
Failure due to metal fatigue of old parts and any damage caused thereby.
Evidence or tampering with work undertaken by Rickarton Clocks by a third party either in the trade or not unless we have designated that person to do so.
Initial setting up issues including a suitable place for the clock, getting the clock into beat so it continues to tick, winding the clock, and any other setting up issues where the extra delivery & setup service has not been taken up by the client. Where this service has not been taken up by the client, then any call-out resulting from setting up issues may incur a standard call-out fee.
Any further setup call-outs after 1 week of the clock working fine may be charged extra.
Final timekeeping and regulation are the responsibility of the owner because of temperature variables. All clocks are regulated at the workshop; however, they will almost certainly need slight adjustment when set up after a few days. Good timekeeping for an antique clock is said to be anywhere within 10 minutes per week.
Acts of God.
